Sometimes you want company for a smoke break, and nobody you know is free. A good smoke chat doesn't need a perfect opening line. It needs another person who's open to talking—and a way to reconnect if you hit it off.

Smokie is an Android video chat app for adults 18+ who enjoy cannabis culture. You don't have to smoke on camera, and Smokie isn't a place to buy or sell cannabis. The point is conversation.

Start with whoever is around

Open Smokie and tap Light Up. The app searches for another person for a one-to-one video call. The default search is Anyone and Anywhere, which gives you a wider pool than choosing a country or gender. Optional filters use gems; check the cost in the app before applying them.

People use Smokie in different countries, so you might meet someone with an entirely different take on music, food, comedy, or 420 culture. A country preference is available if you want it, but it cannot create an online match where none exists.

Make the first minute easy

Start with what's actually happening: “What are you listening to?” or “What's the most ridiculous snack you defend?” If the other person is from another country, ask what a laid-back evening looks like there. Let them tell you; don't assume every place has the same laws or smoking culture.

If a call feels awkward, you can move on. If it feels good, give it another minute. A quick joke or a small question works better than trying to force a deep conversation. Need an idea? Try our stoner conversation starters.

What happens while you wait?

Match availability depends on who is online. Smokie's waiting screen has interactive characters and High Thoughts prompts to pass the time. If another person isn't available, the app may offer a separate AI conversation. That isn't a substitute for a human match, and you can try again later.

Turn one smoke chat into a friendship

During a good call, send a friend request. If the other person accepts, you can message them in Smokie's Chat tab afterward. You can also browse profiles in Swipe and connect after a mutual like. That way, the next time you want company, you're not starting from zero.

Keep your boundaries. End or skip a call that feels wrong, use the report or block tools for unwanted behavior, and avoid sharing private details with someone you just met. Read the community rules before your first call.

Want a group smoke session instead?

Smokie's matching is one to one. If you already have friends to invite to a group call, a group video service may suit that plan better. If you want to meet a new smoking buddy and maybe talk again, Smokie is built for that. You can also read our ideas for a virtual smoke session.
