There’s a beagle holding a joint on your screen. He’s waiting with you. Press and hold him, then let go.

While Smokie looks for a video match, the waiting screen has an interactive character and a High Thoughts card. Here’s what each part does.

Hold to inhale. Release to exhale.

Press and hold the character to start the animated puff. The paw moves, the ember glows, and the expression changes. Release your finger to see the smoke.

A quick hold and a longer hold produce different amounts of animated smoke. As you interact, the character’s expression changes further and the joint gets shorter. It’s a small touch interaction you can play with while the search continues.

The green bar belongs to the animation

The bar below the character tracks the puff interaction. It doesn’t show your place in a queue, estimate when a match will arrive, or make matching faster. You can leave the character alone and Smokie will keep looking.

Why you might see a different character

The beagle shares the waiting screen with a monkey and a round yellow character. Smokie rotates them between searches, so you may get a different face next time.

Holding or tapping doesn’t choose the character. The one you get stays for that search; a new search starts a fresh animation.

Tap High Thoughts for another tangent

The card below the character cycles through odd questions and one-liners. Tap the card or Another when you want the next one. Thoughts also change automatically while you wait.

What happens when the wait ends?

Smokie looks for someone based on availability and your preferences. The animation doesn’t guarantee a human match. If nobody is available, you may be connected to an AI conversation; an AI character isn’t another app user.
